General Manager

The Caribbean Alternative Investment Association (CARAIA) invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the position of:

 

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the position oversees the activities of the Association and is responsible for:

a)     The establishment of strategic goals and formulating plans to ensure goals are met.

b)     Overall leadership and management of the Association, in a manner that supports and guides its Mission and Vision as defined by the Board of Directors.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prepare strategic and annual business plans and monitor progress to ensure that the Association attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.
  2. Grow the Association through implementing strategies to enhance annual fund raising and expand membership base.
  3. Ensure the maintenance of a database with current information on the Alternative Investment markets in the Caribbean, and preparation of periodic reports.
  4. Develop and implement a communication strategy to promote the Association and its activities, and the dissemination of information to stakeholders.
  5. Build the Association’s public profile, locally, regionally, and internationally, through networking and other events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
  6. Oversee the management of the financial operation of the Association.

 

The required MINIMUM qualifications, experiences, and attributes are:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Investment, Accounting, Management or equivalent
  • Project management experience.  Certification would be an asset.
  • Experience in the financial sector, in particular with alternative investment markets, would be an asset.
  • An understanding of financial management and general management principles and techniques.
  • Demonstrated organizational management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience at the senior management level
