OBJECTIVE

 

The Supervisor - Gas Transmission and Distribution facilitates the safe and efficient collection, separation and transmission of natural gas supplied to the company’s Beachfield Facility along with all the other stations that comprise the Beachfield Operations and the Tobago Gas Receiving Facility. Provides pressure regulation and accurate measurement of natural gas. Oversees, the safe collection, accurate measurement and disposal/transfer of condensate and hydrocarbon liquids.

 

There are two (2) vacancies, one (1) based at Beachfield Facility, Trinidad and one (1) based at Cove Facility, Tobago. This is a non-shift position and the incumbent will not be required to be resident onsite upon completion of daily duties in accordance with the hours of work stipulated in the employment contract.

 

FUNCTIONS

  • Plans and directs the activities of the Beachfield/Tobago Gas Receiving Facility (TGRF) Operation Sections to ensure the achievement of all objectives in a safe and timely manner.
  • Performs initial troubleshooting on equipment in a safe and efficient manner at the Beachfield and Tobago Gas Receiving Facilities.
  • Prepares and reviews the implementation of systems, policies and procedures for the safe and efficient functioning of the Beachfield/Tobago Gas Receiving Facility (TGRF) Operations Section and submits for approval.
  • Reviews the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures and initiates and recommends modifications to facilitate the achievement of objectives.
  • Monitors and ensures the availability of emergency spare parts at the facility.
  • Prepares OSH risk registers, identifies mitigation actions and submits in accordance with set time frames.
  • Plans emergency response actions and drills for the facilities to ensure that OSH standards and guidelines are met and comply with Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides advice and interpretation on technical matters to assist in effective decision making.
  • Contributes to and works closely with other divisions for the preparation of scope of works and inhouse estimates for activities at the facility.
  • Supervises staff to maintain acceptable levels of efficiency and productivity to achieve set performance targets.
  • Monitors associated land-based gas transmission and distribution’s pipelines for efficiency, differential pressure increases, liquid build up and recommends and/or implements corrective action in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Develops, reviews and approves operational procedures, risk assessment, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Manages alarm systems, barriers and takes corrective actions in accordance with the operational procedures and design of the facility.
  • Prepares and submits monthly, annual, and periodic reports in accordance with standards and timelines.
  • Recommends changes for process improvement and takes action to support implementation.
  • Monitors all repair works and signs off acceptance tests on equipment repaired on site.
  • Develop and execute liquid manifest programs in alignment with established Policy and Procedures. Executes any other related duties as assigned.
  • Reviews work packages based on the Control of Work Philosophy before the commencement of work on site.
  • References the Extended Period Isolation Register to ensure this is factored when planning work activities and prior to approving permits.
  • Prepares work orders on SAP for facility related activities as per the CMMS system.
  • Addresses audit related items on the facility to ensure all recommendations are closed.
  • Reports personnel and process safety incidents and assist with closure of recommendations from incident learnings.
  • Executes any other related duties as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The minimum requirements for the position are:

  • A First Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Computer, Process, Chemical or Natural Gas Engineering or in a related field of study.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ working experience in Operations and Maintenance of a Natural Gas Processing Facility, a Condensate Processing Facility, a Petrochemical Processing Facility, or a similar type of operation of which at least three (3) years’ must be at a Supervisory level.

OR

  • A National Technician’s Diploma in MET, MEET, EEET, IIET, Chemical Engineering Diploma, Natural Gas Engineering. 
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ working experience in Operations and Maintenance in a Natural Gas Processing Facility, a Condensate Processing Facility, a Petrochemical Processing Facility or in a similar type of operation of which at least five (5) years’ must be at a Supervisory level.
