The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of company’s accounts receivable and credit control function, with direct responsibility for “C” and Cash customer accounts.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Enforces set standards for credit granting, development of criteria for credit limits, special terms, etc.
  • Contacts "C" and cash customers directly, to follow up on outstanding payments due.
  • Identify potential bad and doubtful balances and escalates to the team lead and/or Financial Accountant for action.
  • Reviews and recommends accounts for outside collection agencies or legal action and follows through as required.
  • Retains records of invoices, deposits, and all correspondence regarding payment collection.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forecasting reports for collection expectations.
  • Enforces deadlines for payment collection by liaising directly with customers and with the commercial team.
  • Monitors cash customer balances daily and follows up with the customer and Commercial team on any balances aged greater than 2 working days.
  • Prepares paperwork for submission to Group Legal on delinquent accounts.
  • Negotiates with customers in cases when non-payment occurs, escalating to the Management Accountant as necessary.

 Position Requirements: 

  • Minimum of five (5) (CXC) passes including Mathematics and English Language.
  • Solid understanding of, and experience with accounts receivable and credit control processes and principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with expert ability to navigate Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with executive customer relationship management, including collection efforts.
  • Expertise in following up collections from customers.
  • Knowledge of the sales and van sales processes including returns and credits
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document findings and communicate same to stakeholders, in an easily understandable format
  • Experience in customer service
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a team or autonomously and contribute effectively to team performance and goals.
  • Time management and multitasking skills.
