To perform all tasks required for the efficient sale of Automotive, Industrial, Marine and Motorcycle Batteries to Authorized Dealers, or Commercial Customers of this Company. You will report to the Manager, Battery Department.
Purpose of the Job
To perform all tasks required for the efficient sale of Automotive, Industrial, Marine and Motorcycle Batteries to Authorized Dealers, or Commercial Customers of this Company. You will report to the Manager, Battery Department.
Main Tasks
- Visiting existing Dealers to check their stock and replenish stock required by them for re-sale to their customers.
- Visiting potential customers with a view to adding them to our list of existing Dealers for our brand of batteries.
- Assisting with the loading of stock of Batteries into the Sales Van assigned to you and off-loading such stock at the customer’s premises as required by the customer.
- Preparation of Invoices on a Cash or Charge basis as required and having all of these properly signed by you and your customers.
- Checking the customers stocks of batteries to ascertain that the proper stock rotation practices are being followed, that is First in First out. Returning any stock which may be three months old or more so that these can be recharged and sold. Recording such transaction with a Goods Return document or Credit Note and ensuring that proper signatures are obtained.
- Collecting monies owed to the Company by customers and accounting for same according to the Company’s standing instructions and paying this in to the Company’s cashier or respective Bank account.
- Ensuring that all safety rules and regulations are in place and observed for the proper handling of Batteries.
- Completion of a Salesman’s Daily Report indicating the customers or potential customers visited and a brief indication of the activity or discussions held and handing this in to the Manager each morning.
- Checking the tray provided for you each morning to ensure that you receive any messages that may have been left for you on the previous day.
- Keeping the Vehicle assigned to you clean, presentable and in proper working condition at all times. Being courteous and observing all traffic regulations to portray a proper image of the Company.
- Reporting to the Manager: 1. Any issues that may affect your performance of your in the completion of your duties. 2. Any issues that may affect the company in achieving its goals and objectives.
- Any other tasks which the Manager or a Director may assign to you from time to time in order to discharge the purpose of the job.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, follow directives and work with little supervision.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry is an asset.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 CXC level subjects (including English and Mathematics).
- 3 years of sales experience.
- Sales Training is an asset
Special Requirements:
- Willing to work overtime on holidays or weekends, whenever necessary
- Always on call to assist clients.
