Job Summary:
The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the Business Plans and achievement of the sales Budgets at Alstons Shipping Ltd. The incumbent shall provide input to maximize customer satisfaction and identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve revenue growth.
Job Description:
- Identify and implement business development projects relating to new products and /or industries, technologies or services.
- Identify new market and product development opportunities and determine the feasibility of the respective ones,
- Perform analysis on new or improved product opportunities and/ or business models and coordinate with internal departments in identifying / implementing business development projects
- Develop, capture and create customer/supplier relationships in the local/international marketplace.
- Work with internal departments and potential customers to determine their needs
- Develop and disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objective
- Achieve the annual growth targets (revenues, profit, volume) as defined in the department budget review
- Develop and apply marketing techniques to develop strategies for effective pricing of services.
- Prepares, monitors and controls budget to ensure compliance with set targets
- Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
- Provide overall supervision and coordination of all activities to team members .
- Performs all other duties as assigned and requested by management.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/ Marketing, Logistics and or Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- Knowledge of Programming Planning Budget System, The Budget Cycle and Proposal Development
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the Shipping Industry
- Proficient in MS Office and any other tools utilized in the Sales and Marketing profession
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory capacity
