WPM Waste Management Limited invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Landfill Manager. 

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Operations Manager and has the responsibilities for taking the necessary steps to gain a clear understanding of the development plans for the disposal sites.  Ensuring continuous improvement and construction of onsite access roads to the disposal sites. Improving operational efficiency at each assigned disposal sites to minimize turnaround time for waste haulage vehicles. To facilitate, coordinate and manage the tipping cells at each assigned disposal sites. To develop and maintain the fire mitigation strategy. Prepare written reports monthly basis on each area of responsibility for submission to the National Coordinator and ROM. 

Education/Experience:

• BSc. from a recognized tertiary institution with training in Solid Waste Management;
• Certified Landfill Operator;
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position with responsibility for the supervision of the work of others.
• Computer Literate in respect of Microsoft Office. 

Specifications

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
• An aptitude to follow written and oral instructions;
• Ability to carry out tasks without constant supervision;
• In possession of a valid drivers’ license and reliable vehicle;
• Knowledge of civil security requirements.
