Job Summary:

 

The Manager Digital Forensic Services contributes to the overall success of Investigation Services by preventing, detecting and suppressing technological crime against the Bank’s resources, including staff, property and customers of the Scotiabank Group and Its Affiliates, ensuring that all initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Leads high complexity investigations relating to known or suspected technological crime against the Scotiabank Group and affiliates in Caribbean South and East and gathers sufficient evidence to assist in determining criminal and civil remedies against the perpetrators.

 

  • Takes immediate action in conjunction with line management, Information Technology & Solutions, Internet Service Providers, law enforcement and banks, to prevent financial loss and reputational risk to the Bank.

 

  • Prevents, detects and investigates various forms of electronic fraud; such targeted hacks and crime ware against the Bank, which can be launched from any point in the world.

 

  • Oversees and manages the electronic fraud investigations as it relates to phishing, malware and account takeover cases. This includes the investigation of anomalous or erroneous transactions and information, which transcend the systems and networks of the Scotiabank Group, as well as identifying source and intent and assessing the threat to the Scotiabank Group's systems and financial integrity.

 

  • Ensures the expert handling and analysis of computer hard drives, other communication systems / methods and audit trails, including the use of highly sophisticated tools / technology to capture, preserve and analyze digital evidence by the team

 

  • Delivers educational presentations to various stakeholders within Caribbean South and East on the detection and prevention of technological crime.

 

  • Develops and recommend strategies and plans to suppress technological attacks by organized crime groups

   

Educational Background and Experience:

 

  • Possesses knowledge of the hardware and software systems as well as policies and procedures to effectively conduct technical investigations and identify potential leads.
  • Degree in Information Security / Digital Forensics.
  • EnCE (Encase Certified Examiner) is essential
  • Knowledge of the Financial Institutions Act, Criminal Codes, court procedures, Cybercrime Act pertaining to countries in the Caribbean South and East, rules of evidence and interview procedures.
  • Proven police experience and training is an asset, together with an investigative background, effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Information Security related certifications are an asset.
