Our client, a Financial Services institution in Trinidad and Tobago, invites applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable for the development and implementation of the overall strategic initiatives of the institution. The position provides leadership and guidance to a team of Senior Executive Officers for the provision of sound mortgage and other asset collateralized loan and financial investment opportunities to its customers.
The CEO will make strategic decisions on matters such as policy development and approvals for implementation of such, organisation transformation and operational efficiency improvements in a dynamic environment where organisation transformation will be an ongoing process. The incumbent will be required to represent the organisation at Line Ministry, Ministerial and Board meetings (not exhaustive) pertaining to the external and internal performance of the organisation and contribution to national development.
Key Accountabilities:
Drives a high performance culture and provides guidance on the development and implementation of the strategic plan and initiatives.
Leads organisation growth and transformation through innovation.
Focuses on delivering results across all departments and creating a results-based culture.
Reviews and approves annual organisation budgets.
Reviews organisational performance and supports annual operational plan development.
Promotes compliance with industry laws and regulations.
Identifies additional market opportunities for loans, product expansions and increasing revenues
Reviews and approves organisational arrangements
Reviews, approves and presents reports to various institutions and bodies e.g. Line Ministry, Ministerial Committees etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
MSc in Finance or Economics, or an MBA with a specialisation in Finance.
BSc in Finance or Business Management with a specialisation in Finance.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Mortgage Banker or Chartered Mortgage Analyst designations would be considered an asset.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the mortgage industry or financial services sector.
At least 10 years’ experience in a senior management role as Head of a strategic department.
Demonstrated experience in driving strategic initiatives in multiple complex environments and strong experience in institutional capacity building.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of the Trinidad and Tobago mortgage market and financial services sector trends.
Extensive knowledge of financial management, portfolio management, investments and mortgages.
Specialist knowledge in industry laws, regulations and compliance requirements pertaining to mortgages, fund management, investment activities and capital markets.
Substantial knowledge of industrial relations matters, laws and understanding of union negotiations/ bargaining processes.
Extensive knowledge of organisation operating model interdependencies for leading operational excellence improvements.
Substantial negotiating and persuasion skills.
Substantial ability to interface confidently with senior officials and industry leaders.
Understands sensitivities of organizational dynamics and emotional intelligence.
