Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for executing the sales and distribution strategies for our wide portfolio of products, to deliver all Financial and Commercial objectives within assigned Routes .

 

Manages trade relationships with Wholesalers, Retailers, Bars and Restaurants and other key stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met.

  • Execute the Route business strategies that drive the Sales Plans with key customers to increase numeric distribution and optimize profitability & in the Downtrade Channel or territory.
  • Prepare forecasts for input into Monthly Business Planning Cycle that drives Operations (Distribution and Purchasing)
  • Monitor Pricing Architecture in key channels to ensure optimal Price-to- Consumer objectives are met.
  • Identify optimal Consumer Promotions that drive demand and enhance Brand Equity.
  • Achieve Route numeric growth on all assigned Routes

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Successful execution of Sales Plans
  • Achieve  Route sales monthly targets
  • Develop and ensure execution of Trade Promotions.
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews of In-market Sales by SKU by Channel and Key Customer to identify risks, opportunities, gaps and corrective measures to maximize business performance.
  • Ensure Accounts receivable are within Credit Limits.
  • Monitor and report on key developments in the Territories related to customers, Consumers and Competitors, as well as macro-economic issues that impact business performance.
  • Conduct detailed trade audits to ensure compliance and operational efficiency: no expired product, proper treatment or non-conforming products, no off-strategy activity impacting brand equity.
  • Review all KPIs by Customer and Category (Sales, Stocks, Forecast, investments) to improve planning, while coaching internal and Distributor talent.
  • Ensure Compliance with the Distributor Agreement and all related Policies.
  • Strong and versatile communication style with solid negotiation skills across different cultures.
  • Conduct regular meetings with salespersons to address operational issues as they occur.
  • Manage sales recaps for shortages, overages and any other sales irregularities
  • Conduct daily trade visits by route to asses service, distribution, profitability and Salesperson performance
  • Ensure new product launches are properly executed and feedback on product performance is provided to management
  • Ensure Product Display equipment is effectively allocated to customers and contracts are signed.
  • Conduct truck stock audits weekly and also ensure that vaults are being utilized.
  • Report changes in competitive and trade activities re: pricing, new products, advertising materials, distribution etc. on a timely basis to management
  • Prepare daily route audit reports and hit rate analysis
  • Conduct Dispatch of Sales trucks and ensure all pre inspection form are completed and submitted and ensure resolutions are provided
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.
  • Efficient management of submission of promotional bills
  • Ensuring timely syncing of handhelds.

Skills and Competencies Requirements:

 

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Economics or Marketing or related discipline,
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment,
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales
  • Trade Marketing knowledge, skills and discipline will be an asset

Other Competency Requirements:

  • Strong Sales & Marketing knowledge to execute Route sales and promotion  Plans.
  • Highly developed knowledge of Downtrade Route Sales and ATC Distribution Operations.
  • Minimum of intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Strong and versatile communication style with solid negotiation skills across different cultures.
