The Telephone Operator/Administrative Assistant manages the incoming and outgoing call traffic and provides administrative assistance as needed, for the Receptionist and Customer Experience functions.
Key Accountabilities
Internal Operations:
Operate a Switchboard to answer and dispatch all incoming calls.
Assists internal customers with placing international calls.
Assisting with basic incoming customer queries and re-directing the more complex queries to the relevant person/department.
Opens, sorts and stamps all mail received from Reception, Post Office and Branches and ensures they are ready for internal dispatch.
Stuffs and sorts monthly Client statements, renewal notices and other client documentation as needed.
Provides back-support in the absence of the Receptionist.
Performs tasks as assigned, in support of Customer Experience initiatives.

Technical Competencies
Knowledge and understanding of the core principles of insurance.
Knowledge and understanding of the range of insurance products and services and how it can be used to meet client needs.
Knowledge and understand of in the handling of claims.
Basic knowledge of customer service requirements.
Qualification and Experience
A minimum of five (5) CSEC passes including Math and English (Minimum of grade 2).
Customer Service certification would be an asset.
Minimum of one (2) years experience.
Knowledge of Office procedures and Operator Switchboard.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
The successful candidate must be able to start work right away.
