Assistant Examinations Officer (GMG/EO1) Examinations Department
JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Examinations Officer assists in managing processes of the department to ensure that the Council’s quality assurance mandate is maintained for all forms of assessment for all programmes offered by the CCCJ.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaising with External Examiners for all programmes offered by the Council.
- Maintaining a database for External Examiners.
- Monitoring External Examiners’ timely submission of reports to the Secretariat and
- initiating the payment process.
- Compiling reports from External Examiners for dissemination to the colleges.
- Assisting with logistical planning of External Examiners’ annual workshops.
- Liaising with College Coordinators and other authorities to ensure timely submissions
- in keeping with the Secretariat’s established examination schedules.
- Keeping a record of submissions by each institution for all assessment sessions.
- Reviewing submissions in keeping with CCCJ’s quality standard.
- Assisting with planning and executing vetting sessions.
- Compiling, formatting and proofreading assessment pieces before approval for use.
- Helping to monitor examination sessions (online or face to face).
- Aiding with preparation of examination timetables.
- Supporting the management of examination production schedules.
- Participating in site visits to the colleges to ensure that examinations are conducted in
- accordance with established CCCJ standards.
- Bringing to the attention of the Examinations Officer any irregularity or other
- matter likely to have an impact on the quality of deliverables.
- Attending The University Council of Jamaica’s accreditation sessions when necessary.
- Assisting with preparing examination related reports.
- Participating in policy development and/or review.
- Helping to plan annual professional development workshops.
- Assisting with classification of items for the Council’s examinations item bank.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attending committee meetings as determined by the Examinations Officer or the
- Executive Director.
- Performing any other related duty assigned by the Examinations Officer
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education. A Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant field would be an asset
- Training in Educational Measurement
- Three (3) years teaching experience preferably at the post-secondary level

AUTHORITY
Make recommendations to supervisor regarding examination regulations and procedures.
REMUNERATION
Salary scale: $2 661 653.00 - $3 163 869.00 per annum.
