GIS Technician Job Opportunity

We are looking to hire a GIS technician!

The GIS Technician will be responsible for making maps, customized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications and manipulating data to serve a variety of purposes. They will read and interpret maps, manipulate and understand digital land data and manage data entered into a GIS database. The technician will also compile and integrate new cartographic data, draw maps using design/GIS software, and manage the data that is entered into the GIS database. 

To ensure success as a GIS technician, you should have advanced computer mapping skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for scientific research. A top-class GIS technician can take raw geographic data and transform it into usable maps and documents for business purposes.

GIS Technician Requirements:

• Understanding of Integrated GPS and GIS principals.
• Advanced computer programming and data analysis skills.
• Knowledge of modern cartographic standards and principles.
• Can problem-solve individually and on a team.
• Possess strong IT skills.
• Can manipulate complex databases.
• Ability to travel when required.
• Proficiency in design and GIS software
• BSc in the relevant disciplines or Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required skills and abilities for the position.
