General Accountability
The Fund Manager is responsible for leading the operations of a regional Mutual Fund management company, UTC Fund Management Services STL Limited (“UTC FMS”), with a focus on ensuring:
(i) strict adherence to contractual agreements, policies, operational procedures, processes and controls;
(ii) excellent delivery of internal/external stakeholder satisfaction;
(iii) Mutual Fund marketing and promotion; and
(iv) economic competitiveness and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Provide oversight of the operations of all contracted counterparties.
- Ensuring the implementation of all related policies, procedures, standards and operational guidelines and monitoring the ongoing compliance of contracted counterparties of UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited including (a) Distributors; (b) Custodian; (c) Fund Administrator; (d) Investment Advisor; and (e) Registrar.
- Supporting the Risk Department in the identification of potential exposure.
- Serving as the primary point of escalation for queries or issues between UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited and UTC FMS counterparties (e.g. Custodian, Fund Administrator, Investment Advisor, Registrar, Distributors)
- Developing strategies to improve internal/external customer service delivery.
Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders in the development of policies and procedures for the business.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are relevant and kept up to date.
Managing Distributor Performance
- Ensuring that the UTC FMS meets all financial targets set for Distributor operations through effective forecasting and monitoring of the Fund’s growth rate.
- Identifying and making recommendations regarding new Distributor business development and changes to the existing business model as required.
- Assisting with the development of new distribution strategies to ensure increased profitability of UTC FMS in these operations.
- Preparing statistics and reports on Distributor operations.
Manage the payment of Fund-related Fees including those for Distributors, Fund Administrator, Custodian, Registrar and Investment Advisor
- Managing fee payment system.
- Addressing queries relating to fees made by any UTC FMS counterparty
Provide Distributors with the appropriate coaching, counseling, direction and resolution of issues.
- Organising meetings with UTC FMS counterparties to provide updates and discuss issues pertinent to customer service (internal/external) or other matters.
- Collaborating with UTC FMS internal stakeholders and external parties to resolve issues.
- Ensuring that sufficient training is provided on: the UTC Global Balanced Fund Limited, Fund Administration software and Sales and Marketing of the Fund
Ensure that the Fund complies with operational and investment policy and objectives
- Ensuring the administration and settlement of Fund transactions
- Reporting on investment performance to the Board of Directors
- Confirming trades with brokers and counterparties
- Ensuring the accurate and timely calculation of the Net Asset Value of the Fund
- Ensuring the accurate and timely maintenance of the Shareholders’ Register
- Ensuring the transfer of securities of the Fund
- Computing the management fees and distributions
- Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of Financial Statements for the Fund and the Fund Management company

The selected candidate must possess the following combination of qualifications, skills, training and experience:
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in St. Lucia
- A Post Graduate Diploma and a First Degree in a relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution.
- A track record as a senior leader for at least six (6) consecutive years
- A minimum of five (5) years’ extensive and successful experience at a senior level within a financial institution.
- Strong technical competence
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the relevant field.
- Suitable combination of training and experience.
- CFA or ACCA certification will be an asset.
