Our client, an Upstream Oil & Gas Company, is seeking to fill the position of Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer.

  

Job Summary:

This position will provide machinery expertise and operational support in order to facilitate safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the rotating equipment on the offshore oil and gas production platform and the Onshore Oil receiving Terminal. This position will report directly to the Facilities Engineering Manager.

 

The Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer will work closely with the other team members in a shared responsibility to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the production platforms and Onshore Terminal, within the agreed HSE criteria, budget, and schedule.

  

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver optimized solutions for any issues relating to rotating and associated equipment based on cost, reliability, and operability.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and Maintenance technicians in the Rotating equipment field.
  • Participate in HAZID and HAZOP sessions and participate in peer reviews.
  • Manage lube oil sampling and evaluation including, sampling frequencies, sample analysis criteria, and oil sample analysis evaluation/review
  • Manage rotating equipment condition monitoring via online monitoring of all telemetry via PI or vendor provided online systems.
  • Conduct analysis of all vibration data via online tools such as System1 or from third party manual data collection.
  • Review and analyse failure history relating to rotating equipment via work management systems such as SAP.
  • Review and update maintenance plans relating to rotating equipment.
  • Coordinate and manage major rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Review stocking strategies for spare parts required for optimal rotating equipment uptime.
  • Lead regular meetings on rotating equipment reliability and ongoing issues with relevant personnel.
  • Provide written reports to leadership and relevant personnel on the status and ongoing work relating to rotating equipment.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on major rotating equipment failures including inspection of failed components.
  • Identify opportunities for projects to improve reliability and implement/manage Management of Change (MOC) projects.
  • Create training on relevant subjects for operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct site visits to vendor locations for purposes of failure identification and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Interface with other Asset Teams to share and leverage collective knowledge related of offshore oil and gas rotating equipment.
  • Reviewing the facility’s input toward identifying Facility Lifecycle Plan activities.
  • Implementing a performance improvement plan to continuously improve the cost effectiveness of plant, equipment, vendors and contractors.
  • Keeping abreast of related reliability engineering technology and, where appropriate, encourage the use of relevant, new technologies and ideas
  • Development of Reliability reports for all rotating assets and issue reports on a monthly basis.
  • Champion initiatives for improving reliability in turbo Machinery and balance of plant equipment.
  • Participating in the development of engineering elements of field operations maintenance related training programs and assessment of relevant Operations Technicians

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline required.
  • Professional qualifications and related training.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, including construction, operations, and maintenance experience.
  • Experienced in offshore oil and gas upstream operations.
  • Familiar with relevant rotating equipment standards and codes.
  • Experience with engineering QA/QC processes.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in RCM and reliability concepts.
  • Knowledge of Lube oil analysis.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Vibration analysis
