The incumbent will interview clients, hear their concerns, assesses the situation and provides financial advice for the development of their respective investment portfolios towards helping them meet their financial goals. Through this process Group products and services are promoted and sold.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SALES:

  • Participates in Branch/Company sales, marketing, and public relations activities,  to meet its targets for profitability and market share through but not limited to:
    1. Utilising Branch and personal resources to create a list of prospective clients, within the immediate and wider communities.
    2. Makes direct contact with existing clients where appropriate, and offers solutions
  • Establishes a personal sales plan for business development (cross-selling and up-selling), identifying performance targets for agreement with Team Leader
  • Interviews Client (e.g. clarify current financial position, existing obligations, identify threats/opportunities) and provides him/her/them with financial advice that excites, empowers and guides them in planning their financial portfolios to achieve their financial goals.
  • Has clear, precise conversations with Clients to help to them make appropriate choices (e.g. identify their level of risk tolerance, the optimum investment allocation, understand financial concepts, the options available, understand the risk involved in making investments).
  • Negotiates possible solutions for Clients based on the use of JMMB Group’s products/services (e.g. including explaining the differences between the services of JMMB Group of Companies and perceived competitors).
  • Introduces applicable solutions offered across the group, based on client needs, for example,
    1. Pre-screens credit applicants
    2. Makes insurance referrals
  • Generates agreed investment plan for Client.
  • Activates JMMB’s roles in the Client’s agreed investment plan.
  • Generates a sales plan and discusses with Team Leader as required
  • Prepares performance updates relating to sales plan and discusses same with Team Leader as required

 

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING/ AFTER SALES CLIENT SERVICING:

  • Monitor grid to process waiting transactions in accordance to JMMB's processing and client care standards
  • Follows-up for new accounts so that Client receives confirmation documentation within the deadlines as set by policy
  • o   Processes Client transactions as per their requests and in-keeping with the law and JMMB Client Care standards.
  • o   Hears, helps to define and to address Client concerns, escalating the situation only as is required.
  • Sends updates to clients with respect to their portfolio or general market activities
  • Processes cash secured loans to Clients within the guidelines set, through loan-related documentation, such as preparation of the Promissory Notes for Clients and the repurchase agreements on behalf of JMMB, ensuring that the appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Helps to fulfil JMMB’ contract with the Client through after-sales service such as:
    1. Responds to Client account enquiries.
    2. Prepares tax certificates, as requested by Clients.
    3. Prepares hypothecation letters, as requested by Clients.
    4. Dispatches documents to relevant third party at Client’s request.
    5. Interprets market events and trend for the Client.
    6. Reviews and identifies basic gaps in Client's entire portfolio and make recommendations to the Client accordingly, annually or on the Client’s request.
    7. Identifies and refers “Special Cases” to the Branch Manager or Financial Advisor as is appropriate.

 

GENERAL:

  • Provides feedback to the Company based on information gleaned from interacting with Clients.
  • Keeps abreast of market developments to inform discussions with clients and to understand implications for client’s portfolio
  • Ensures understanding of market conditions by reading all research material published by JMMB as well as participating in any training to enhance own job knowledge
  • Manages the COF of assigned client portfolio
  • Plays various roles in ETM control process (holder of management card etc.)
  • Performs any other duties assigned
  • Promotes the JMMB’s philosophy of the Vision of Love and its unique culture.
  • o   Is engaged in the transformation process for the continuous improvement of the JMMB and its associated companies. 

EDUCATION, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • First Degree in Business, Finance or Economics.
  • Licensed by the Financial Services Commission, or a suitable candidate for licensing. Completed or in pursuit of insurance sales licence (e.g. Ordinary Long Term Insurance [OLT], where applicable.
  • Working knowledge of financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon. JMMB’s Financial Planning Services (FPS) Level I Certificate.
  • Proven track record in sales and in building a portfolio of clients
  • High level of computer literacy and skills.
  • ·         High level of oral and written communication skills.Alert to non-verbal communication.
  • Minimum of three years’ working experience, preferably in a financial institution. Experience with Money Market Operations would be an asset.
