MANAGER, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING

MANAGER, FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the incumbent is responsible for the recording of financial transaction and to provide assistance in the production of accurate financial statements and other financial documents and Management reports. Assist the Director generally in the management of the Department, which have responsibilities for human resource, procurement, administration, information and communication, records management and property management.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the preparation of the annual budget and participation in the corporate planning exercise.
- Assist with treasury management functions and prepares for approval, the documentation relating to investments and in general, investments administration.
- Responsible for the entries to the Microsoft Dynamics General Ledger system and preparation of the monthly Financial Statements.
- Advise on improvements in the computer accounting system and procedures.
- Prepare withholding tax returns monthly.
- Ensure that statutory payments and returns are made on schedule.
- Responsible for the preparation of the audit file and schedules for the internal and external auditors.
- Document systems and procedures and update accounting manuals.
- Assist generally in the management of functions (Human Resource Management/Procurement/Administration/Information and Communication Technology/Records Management/Property Management) in the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- MBA qualification, specializing in finance; or pursuing the final level ACCA qualification; three (3) years experience in a middle management finance and accounting position; or
- A first degree in Accounting; Business Administration; Management Studies; or pursuing the final level ACCA qualification; eight (8) years experience in a middle management finance and accounting position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Sound knowledge of financial and management accounting systems, policies and procedures.
- Be familiar with International Accounting Standards and best practices.
- Have an understanding and knowledge of relevant information technology and systems.
- Have a working knowledge of the financial sector.
- Have a working knowledge of the local and overseas investment markets.
- Have general management experience and skills.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Vision.
- Results and solutions oriented.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Logical and analytical approach to investigation, identification, analysis and reporting.
