DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

MUST HAVE SALES AND MARKETING MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN SHIPPING

• Maintain customer contact and relations to maintain their continual business with the company.
• Continually seek potential opportunities for the company and pursue potential clients
• Develop marketing strategies to generate new clientele.
• Prepare tenders and submit tenders to potential clients.
• Prepare budgets; compare budgets to actuals
• Prepare quotations for clients
• Research company rates to ensure rates quoted by the company are competitive in the market.
• Prepare and monitor budgeting cost for company
• Assist in the collection of cheques, by following up with clients who owe outstanding freight and collecting fees.
• Prepare invoices and quotes in accordance with company guidelines and policy
• Monitor and maintain record of jobs tendered and payments received.
• Coach staff in achieving their goals to achieve the overarching goal of the department.
• Regularly monitor and assess performance of subordinate staff to provide constructive feedback and highlight development needs
• Promote an environment of co-operation for continual improvement of team performance
• Resolve or refer employee grievances and complaints in line with Company grievance and complaint handling procedures to minimize negative effects on employees and the organization’s operations

Qualifications and experience

MUST HAVE SALES AND MARKETING MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IN SHIPPING

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Sales/marketing
• A minimum 4 years relevant experience in a similar environment
• Knowledge and experience in the use logistics software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
