Inventory and Controls Officer

Location: Kingston   Department: Accounts  Reports to: Finance Controller

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-driven Inventory and Controls Officer to oversee tray logistics and support internal controls across our bakery manufacturing operations. This hybrid role ensures accurate tracking of physical assets, verifies production yields, and strengthens compliance with waste and inventory protocols.

 Key Responsibilities

Tray Management and Reconciliation

  • Monitor daily tray issuance and returns from drivers
  • Maintain real-time tray counts across issue room, washing room, returns shop, and production
  • Record unreturned trays and communicate with Accounts for billing

Waste Verification and Yield Oversight

  • Verify and sign off on all waste before disposal, ensuring proper documentation
  • Cross-check production output against raw material usage to validate yield
  • Flag discrepancies and escalate for investigation

Inventory Control and Reporting

  • Conduct spot checks on packaging and ingredient stock levels
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts and reconciliation
  • Support audit readiness with accurate logs and compliance documentation

Process Improvement and Compliance Support

  • Collaborate with production and finance teams to refine tray flow and waste protocols
  • Identify opportunities to reduce loss and improve traceability
  • Ensure SOPs are followed and updated as needed

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounts, Operations management, Logistics or Business Management
  • Experience in inventory control, auditing, or operations support (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with basic accounting or ERP systems
  • Ability to work independently and uphold compliance standards
