The IT Systems Administrator ensures stable IT operations across onshore, offshore, and cloud environments, provides first-line and escalated support, and serves as Jamaica’s lead IT contact, commuting from Kingston to support local sites.

IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

(Work Location - Kingston)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Systems Administrator manages Excelerate’s IT infrastructure to ensure stable operations across on-premises, offshore, and cloud environments. Key responsibilities include maintaining and optimizing network, server, data communication, and telecom systems. Reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure, this role provides first-line and escalated support, primarily serving as the main IT contact in Jamaica and traveling from Kingston to support various sites. The responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in day-to-day operations of Excelerate Energy’s Information Technology systems including servers, storage, telecommunications, and desktop machines.
• Assisting with the design and implementation of short and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
• Providing multi-faceted IT support role – ranging from helpdesk support to server and network administration.
• Installing and configuring software applications and operating systems as required.
• Testing server and network performance providing statistics and reports.
• Helping to maintain continual uptime for all of Excelerate Energy’s IT systems
• Assisting in streamlining Excelerate Energy’s IT infrastructure to provide a more efficient seamless end user experience.
• Assisting with Support of Excelerate’s IT operations, ranging from Helpdesk support for both local and remote users.
• Commuting to Jamaica Small Scale Sites, CCHP, Old Harbour, and Montego Bay to provide IT Support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working within information technology.
• Experience in the most current technologies and products used in the industry.
• Knowledge of communication methods used in the maritime industry such as VSAT, FBB and others is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft services, such as Hyper-V and Active Directory.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, including deployment, management and integration of cloud-based services.
• Understanding of enterprise-level networking concepts, including cloud networking, firewalls, switching and wireless infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and customer service skills
