The Human Resource Officer supports the delivery of human resource services, ensuring policies are applied consistently and contributing to an effective, compliant, and well-managed workplace environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support the recruitment and selection process by posting vacancies, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
  2. Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation activities, ensuring completion of required documentation and facilitating a smooth integration into the organization.
  3. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  4. Maintain accurate employee records in accordance with established compliance and record-keeping requirements.
  5. Manage employee and industrial relations matters, including handling grievances, participating in dispute resolution processes, conducting workplace investigations, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  6. Assist with the interpretation and application of labour legislation and organizational policies to ensure compliance and promote fair and consistent employee relations practices.
  7. Support performance management activities, including assisting with performance improvement plans and performance review processes.
  8. Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, wellness, and communication initiatives across the organization.
  9. Coordinate HR projects through research, data analysis, and preparation of reports to support decision-making.
  1. Assist with HR reporting, workforce analytics, and other general HR administrative functions as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Sound knowledge of employee and industrial relations principles and human resource management practices.
  • Strong understanding of employment and labour legislation and workplace compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Certification or training in Industrial Relations / Labour Relations
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in Human Resources, including at least three (3) years specializing in employee and industrial relations.

OTHER:

  • Must be able to work a shift system, including Saturdays.
