A leading Caribbean distribution company specializing in logistics for pharmaceutical and consumer brands is hiring General Warehouse Workers due to business growth.
Overview: Our client is recognized as a premier distribution company across the Caribbean who provides seamless logistics solutions for leading pharmaceutical & consumer brands to multiple territories. Due to growth, they are seeking to recruit General Warehouse Workers.
Duties & Responsibilities
▪ Inspecting products for quality, quantity, and accuracy against packing slips or purchase orders.
▪ Reporting and documenting any discrepancies or damages.
▪ Promptly and accurately receiving and checking all incoming inventory.
▪ Receiving and processing all returned products.
▪ Receiving, checking, unpacking and packing goods and items including where necessary, the off-loading or loading of vehicles and containers.
▪ Safely and efficiently store products in designated warehouse locations.
▪ Keeping the goods, items, shelves, floors and surrounding areas clean and tidy at all times.
▪ Rotating stock and using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method to ensure product freshness.
▪ Conducting regular cycle counts and assisting in periodic physical inventories.
▪ Entering inventory into the computer.
▪ Communicating stock shortages or overages to the Warehouse Supervisor.
▪ Participating in all inventory and stock count activities.
▪ Picking goods from pallets, pallet racking, coolers, shelves etc. (which may include the use of a Forklift, pallet truck, trolley and other similar equipment/machinery) while ensuring the prompt and efficient receipt and dispatch of these goods and items.
▪ Accurately picking products based on orders.
▪ Packing and labelling materials for distribution.
▪ Preparing products for shipping, ensuring proper documentation is included.
▪ Operating all systems, either manually or computerized, to facilitate the handling of invoices, pick slips, inventory and customers or other staff enquiries and orders.
▪ Picking and packing goods for shipments including the preparation of the pallets and the loading of trucks and containers for shipments and all paperwork associated with the process when required.
▪ Handling of inter-warehouse transfers when required.
▪ Writing credit notes and researching all information necessary to write such credit notes.
▪ Operating the computer system to bill, pick, check prices, locations, expiry dates, etc. of goods and orders or any other items required.
▪ Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines including requirements for PPE and training.
▪ Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
▪ Reporting any safety hazards, accidents or violations immediately.
▪ Working closely with the team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
▪ Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.
▪ Facilitating all orders requested.
▪ Answering the telephone and processing and researching all customer orders and enquiries as may be necessary.
Desired Qualifications & Skills
▪ Completion of Secondary School Education including qualifications in Mathematics and English.
▪ At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar role.
▪ Ability to operate a computer.
▪ Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
▪ Ability to work from heights and lift, carry and move moderate weight regularly.
▪ Ability to work in a cold environment and wear prescribed personal protective equipment.
▪ Ability to stand, walk, bend and reach for extended periods.
▪ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
▪ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
▪ Dependable with the ability to work overtime and shift including weekends and bank holidays.
▪ Experience working in a similar position would be an asset.
