The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving portfolio growth through client acquisition, relationship management, marketing campaigns, community engagement, and digital content initiatives while achieving sales and business development targets.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Officer to drive client acquisition, portfolio growth, and brand visibility across Kingston and St. Catherine. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, executing marketing initiatives, managing digital engagement activities, and maintaining strong customer relationships. 

This role is ideal for an ambitious individual who thrives in a target-driven environment and is passionate about sales, community engagement, and business development.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  •  Identify, engage, and convert prospective clients through networking, referrals, employer visits, field activities, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Promote the Company’s loan products and services to individuals, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, referral partners, and community stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
  • Achieve assigned sales, loan disbursement, portfolio growth, and client acquisition targets.
  • Conduct product presentations and financial awareness sessions for prospective clients and organizations.
  • Represent the Company at community events, trade fairs, expos, and promotional activities.
  • Identify new market opportunities and recommend strategies to expand market share.

 Client Relationship Management

  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Guide customers through the loan application process and ensure accurate documentation is submitted.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to encourage repeat business, customer retention, and referrals.
  • Address customer concerns and queries promptly while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Work closely with branch and credit teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

 Marketing & Digital Engagement

  •  Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns designed to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and portfolio growth.
  • Manage the Company’s social media platforms and ensure content aligns with business objectives.
  • Create, schedule, publish, and monitor content across social media channels.
  • Develop promotional content, customer success stories, educational posts, videos, and campaign materials.
  • Monitor social media performance and customer engagement and recommend improvements to increase visibility and lead generation.
  • Utilize digital platforms to support sales initiatives and strengthen customer engagement.

 Market Intelligence & Reporting

  •  Monitor competitor activities, industry developments, and customer trends.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and track lead conversion activities.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Provide recommendations to improve customer acquisition, portfolio growth, and marketing effectiveness.

 Compliance & Administration

  •  Maintain accurate records of client interactions, applications, and business development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training programmes, meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Management Studies, or a related field or its Equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in sales, business development, marketing, financial services, customer service, or a related field.
  • Experience in microfinance, banking, insurance, credit unions, or other customer-focused financial services environments would be an asset.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and build strong customer relationships.
