Assistant to the Corporate Communications Specialist

Job Objective:

To assist the Corporate Communications Specialist in building, maintaining and managing the reputation of the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) through utilising various forms of communication media.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Council’s corporate communications plan and strategies
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of promotional strategies and public relations campaigns
  • Conduct research as necessary
  • Conceptualise, develop and produce content for publications, videos, advertisements, corporate packages, etc., for dissemination through ACTT’s marketing and distribution channels (online and offline)
  • Compose and edit copy for publications, scripts, speeches and other marketing material
  • Develop content for and maintain the currency of information on the Council’s website and social media platforms
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the Council’s events
  • Assist in the fostering of stakeholder relations to develop collaborative partnerships
  • Prepare briefs, liaise with service providers/in-house clients and oversee the external production of work by printers, designers, etc., in the execution of the Council’s initiatives
  • Assist with the preparation of financial budgets with respect to initiatives under the Unit’s purview
  • Assist in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of internal communications strategies and initiatives
  • Oversee all stakeholder interactions with the ACTT brand, propose strategies to influence brand perception and shape product and brand identity by developing and managing brand initiatives
  • Assist in developing media relations and strategies and coordinating media-related events
  • Perform any other relevant duties as requested by the Corporate Communications Specialist.

Qualifications/Certifications:

  • Bachelor in Media or Mass Communications
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva and other relevant tools
  • Event management certification would be an asset

Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar position performing related duties.
  • Desktop Publishing will be an asset
