We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations. In this role, you’ll manage payroll, accounts payables, and reporting, while coordinating with HR, vendors, and banks. Success requires accounting experience and strong analytical skills.

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for Monthly Payroll, Accounts Payables, Cash and any other activities in the general day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department

 

Major Responsibilities

Payroll processing and analysis

  • Process payroll in Kronos, review payroll and upload to Pay Pak
  • Liaise with HR, Recruiting, Supervisors and Reports Personnels on information for payroll processing.
  • Keying in new hires and vacation in Pay Pak
  • Emailing of pay slips.
  • Disbursements of payroll to respective banks and other financial institutions.
  • Run Payroll Registers and analysis reports.
  • Prepare Payroll analysis reports.
  • Prepare NIS & PAYE reports and distribute respective institutions.
  • Prepare yearly Tax forms
  • Monthly payroll costing report
  • Monthly bonus report

Cash Activities

  • Updating checking details
  • Preparing bank transfers, SFI payments and checks for payments
  • Preparing Weekly fund request
  • Preparing weekly cash activity and forecast
  • Monthly bank reconciling

Accounts Payables

  • Recording invoices and AP payments and upkeep of weekly AP details
  • Prepare summary of invoices to be paid
  • Reconciling vendors balances
  • Liaising with vendors for invoices, statements and payments
  • Uploading invoice submits
  • Prepare analysis related to outstanding payables as required

Other duties

  • Providing invoices when necessary to broker
  • Liaising with broker and clients on shipments
Audit Request
  • All audit requests sent by General Accounts Manager & Controller

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s Degree an asset).
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting, payroll, or finance support role.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Kronos, Pay Pak) and accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax reporting, NIS & PAYE requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
