The Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Accounts Department to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes.

This role supports organizational stability through effective cash flow management, timely financial reporting, and supervision of key accounting functions including payroll, billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. The incumbent ensures adherence to statutory requirements and contributes to maintaining strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Monitor all company bank accounts and ensure timely reconciliation.

  • Manage daily cash flow and provide updates to support operational decision-making.

  • Prepare and present daily bank balances for management review.

  • Update and maintain the General Ledger with accurate financial information.

  • Prepare accounts in accordance with internal and statutory guidelines.

Departmental Supervision

  • Provide overall guidance and supervisory support to the Accounts Department staff.

Accounts Receivable & Customer Transactions

  • Print and verify customer payments for accuracy and proper posting.

  • Review and approve costing for products/services.

Statutory & Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and file GCT returns for the organisation

  • Prepare and file all statutory returns for the company, ensuring adherence to regulatory deadlines.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • ACCA Level 2 or equivalent certification (preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance.

  • Prior supervisory experience within an accounting environment is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory requirements.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong leadership and team-supervision abilities.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
