SERVICE TECHNICIAN

 

                                                                SERVICE TECHNICIAN

We are seeking to recruit a technically skilled service technician to perform repairs and maintenance of equipment and tools for commercial and domestic applications.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, diagnose and perform preventative or corrective maintenance work on customers’ equipment/machines, including power tools.
  • Install parts and test equipment and their components to ensure that the systems function properly.
  • Operate specialised diagnostic tools and standard test equipment and instruments.
  • Perform remote diagnostics, troubleshooting and evaluations that provide direction to Technical Sales Personnel.
  • Perform work as outlined on job cards with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with operating standards
  • Communicate with the Service Planner to request needed parts to repair job
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled maintenance repairs of customer’s equipment both in the field as well as in the workshop; in order to provide exemplary customer service standards.

 

Successful candidates should have:

  • A diploma or certificate in mechanical or electrical maintenance from a recognised tertiary or vocational institution.
  • Working knowledge of servicing / maintaining power tools, welding equipment, electrical generators and industrial air compressors etc.
  • Experience in Electrical and Electronic Circuitry diagnostics
  • Diagnostic training in the aforementioned equipment or a comparable class of equipment.
  • Track record of installing, repairing, servicing, testing, and trouble-shooting equipment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently without much supervision
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which may include bending, lifting equipment and working in confined spaces
  • Basic understanding of PLC control systems a plus.
  • A valid driver’s licence to operate commercial carriers
