SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The incumbent will be responsible for managing, directing and overseeing the various functions of the Mechanical Engineering section of the Engineering Department thereby ensuring the achievement of complete, accurate, safe, available and authentic strategic and operational objectives.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The incumbent will be responsible for managing, directing and overseeing the various functions of the Mechanical Engineering section of the Engineering Department thereby ensuring the achievement of complete, accurate, safe, available and authentic strategic and operational objectives.

 Main Responsibilities:

• Manages the Mechanical Engineering Section.
• Plans and executes maintenance and repair on mechanical equipment.
• Assists the Manager where necessary.
• Monitors and evaluates staff performance, attendance, punctuality and time management.
• Prepares timely monthly reports, quotation requests and budget for subsection.
• Prepares purchase requisitions and specifications for the new equipment.
• Prepares and schedule work
• Plans and carries out major overhauls, routine maintenance and preventative repairs.
• Procures emergency spares, prepares and assists with tender documents.
• Liaises with purchasing department to obtain status report on orders.
• Provides technical support for staff members.
• Ensures that all work is in compliance with the stringent safety guidelines and execute plant inspections.
• Performs other related duties as required.

 Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least six (6) years experience in a similar field or any relevant combination of training and experience.
• Certificate in Supervisory Management would be an asset.
• Current Registration with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago.

* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago
