Under the general supervision of the Data Governance Lead, the Records Officer is responsible for upholding compliance with the Data Privacy Act of Jamaica.
Major Responsibilities:
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement efficient record-keeping practices, and conducting regular audits to gauge compliance levels
Assists in the preparation of departmental status report
Writes monthly and quarterly reports on work activities
Stores, arranges indexes and classifies records
Develops and implements policies for electronic records
Facilitates the development and maintenance of filing systems to meet administrative and legal requirements.
Sets up, maintains, reviews and documents records systems
Standardizes information sources throughout the organization
Manages the change over from paper to electronic records management systems
Enables appropriate responses to access to Information requests
Creates new files and establishes appropriate methods for the storage of old files
Performs other related duties that may be assigned
Qualifications, requirements:
Associate of Science Degree in Business and Administration Management, Management Information System, or a related area
OR
Certificate in Records Management from a recognized tertiary institution
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a records management or similar functional area
Working Conditions:
This position will be exposed to a distribution center & warehouse environment, at an occasional frequency
Frequent to moderate walking short and long distances within the distribution center, office and warehouse areas
Tasks will include physically handling/lifting of boxes with files
Occasional traveling requirements, CBL Head Office and distribution centers across the island when necessary.
Exposure to normal office working environment and also occasionally exposure to forklifts & delivery trucks within the warehouse area
