JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent’s primary function is to mitigate risks posed on the organization’s assets, minimizing losses due to theft, fraud, transactional errors, non-compliance to control mechanisms, physical condition. Internal focus would be on high-risk areas which includes cash handling theft, inventory control, security access violations, fraud and a variety of audits of employee activities. Contribute to improving profitability by effectively developing and implementing loss prevention processes and programs for employees and customers, thereby reducing inventory shrinkage and cash discrepancies ensuring alignment with the company’s core values, Accountability, Care and Trust.

JOB DUTIES

  • Generation and analysis of routine financial and operational reports, dashboards for identification of trends/patterns, anomalies and investigation of same to prevent potential loss.
  • Investigate, log, and resolve alleged and actual loss of company’s assets, violations of policy/procedures, and compliance infractions.
  • Develop audit programs and audit locations to ensure inventory is processed, handled, and monitored appropriately, documenting any errors or process breakdown.
  • Physical validation and investigation of damages, returns, obsolete inventory prior to destruction and witness of same.
  • Develop procedures and roll out of same at locations in loss prevention, inventory loss reduction measures.
  • Develop initiatives to detect risks and security violations and implement programs to prevent repeat occurrences.
  • Prepare, review and analyse all reports associated with audits, inventory loss, cash discrepancies, investigations of all nature within stipulated deadlines.
  • System processing of all adjustments required due to loss of company’s assets within stipulated deadlines.
  • Complete audits of control relevant procedures for areas identified as high risk by the organisation.
  • Leads full physical inventory count by location ensuring adherence to proper stock count procedures to minimise losses from inaccurate results.
  • Monitor shoppers’ and employees’ activities for possible loss occurrence, evaluating counter measures to be adopted.
  • Monitor previous and live surveillance feeds to detect dubious behaviour, searching for and reporting on vulnerabilities, opportunities in our security mechanisms.
  • Assist in developing and implementing security programs recommending surveillance coverage, security guards’ stationing and patrol routine etc.
  • Work closely with each location’s supervision and operations management for continuous review, evaluation and update of location’s risk profile.
  • Collaborates with law enforcement and private security to investigate and address cases including, but not limited to, internal/external theft or fraud.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc. Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 2-5  years’ relevant experience including Internal Audit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft NAV or Microsoft Dynamics would be an asset.
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and possess a vehicle in good working condition that he/she is willing to use in the execution of job responsibilities.
