Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment throughout the property.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeps all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management. Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the company's fire and safety procedures.
  • Continually supports and improves engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
  • Trains and instructs other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.
  • Strives to become an independent mechanic, analyzes problems and formulates plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality. Ensures that Engineering and the work area are kept clean at all times.
  • Be familiar of gas systems, and related safety procedures.
  • Maintains communications with Supervisors to ensure that all materials, tools, and supplies are available or on order. Follows up on any items that may be back ordered.
  • Responsible for the proper and timely completion of preventative maintenance systems.
  • Updates Manager regularly on assignments.
  • Perform other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time.
  • The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you will be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.

Requirements:
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
  • Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
  • Minimum 1 year formal training in Electrical systems; two years formal work experience
  • Basic skills in the areas of dishwashing machines, steamers, boilers, warmers, Ansul/ firs suppression systems, shoppers, mixers, kettles, ovens and kitchen exhaust systems; is proficient with electrical of same.
