KITCHEN SUPERVISOR

Position Overview

The Kitchen Supervisor will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to oversee kitchen operations, maintain food quality and consistency, and ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Assist the Kitchen Manager in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to meet quality and service standards.
  • Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of the Kitchen Manager, providing guidance, instruction, and support to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Ensure that all food preparation and cooking is done in accordance of the procedures and guidance of the Food Safety Management System.
  • Coordinate with the Kitchen Manager to establish and maintain kitchen procedures, including food safety protocols, portion control, and inventory management.
  • Assist the Kitchen Manager in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed, and managing food costs to optimize profitability while minimizing waste.
  • Oversee the preparation of ingredients, ensuring accuracy, freshness, and proper handling in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff, providing feedback and coaching to foster skill development and enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, promotions, and themed nights, coordinating kitchen activities and menu offerings as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas, to uphold health and safety standards.

 

Key Attributes

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or similar role in a restaurant, bar or hospitality setting.
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and a creative approach to menu development and recipe execution.
  • Leadership abilities with the capacity to supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
