Data Analyst

The Data Analyst operates in a team-driven support focused environment where creativity is encouraged. The primary responsibilities include extracting, analyzing, and building data visualizations and reports to provide valuable insights for data-driven decision-making.

Job Summary:                                     The Data Analyst operates in a team-driven support focused environment where   creativity is encouraged. The primary responsibilities include extracting,   analyzing, and building data visualizations and reports to provide valuable   insights for data-driven decision-making.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect and interpret data to identify patterns and trends.
• Analyze data to help inform business decisions and optimize strategies.
• Developing and maintaining databases and reorganizing data in a readable format.
• Performing queries on databases and data systems to extract insights.
• Create and present reports to showcase findings in a comprehensive and understandable manner.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address data needs and implement improvements.
• Ensuring data accuracy and integrity by cleaning and preprocessing data.
• Develop, implement, and maintain data dictionaries and other documentation regarding the organization's data sets.
• Use data visualization tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI to present data in a way that is easy to understand and useful for decision-making.
• Continuously seek to enhance the functionality and performance of data collection and storage systems.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in data analysis and related software and technologies.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data warehouses.
• Write SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Clean, preprocess, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and understand data requirements, objectives, and business needs.

• Design and create interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI to present insights and findings effectively.

• Develop and maintain the organization’s data models, ensuring enterprise data consistency, data security, and data integrity.

• Utilize Python programming skills to automate data processing tasks and enhance analysis capabilities.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data-related challenges and provide data-driven solutions.

KEY SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data modelling tools and platforms such as Snowflake, Microsoft Azure Data Platforms, Python, and SQL Query Language

• Excellent analytical skills with experience analyzing and interpreting complex data.

• Ability to work as part of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.)
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server for data querying, manipulation, and optimization.
• Strong proficiency in Tableau and/or Power BI for creating interactive visualizations and dashboards.
• Experience with ETL processes, data integration, data quality assurance, and data security.
• Certifications in Tableau, Power BI, SQL Server and other related technologies will be an asset.
