Under the direction of the Financial Controller, the incumbent is responsible for the monthly financial statements, ensures the financial integrity of all financial systems

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Financial Controller, the incumbent is responsible for the monthly financial statements, ensures the financial integrity of all financial systems and leads the month end and year end close processes in respect of Popeyes, Little Caesars and Dessert Bar quick service restaurant brands

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sound knowledge of EDP systems and their applications.
  • Experience using AccPac accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • ACCA Level 2 or Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • At least Seven (7) years’ experience in similar capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral format.
  • Ability to interpret financial and accounting data.
  • Well developed skills and good judgment.
  • Ability to display good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in crisis situations.

 

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Traveling required to the various stores and events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Align team and individual activities to the corporate goals and objectives.
  • Deputize as needed.
  • Conduct quarterly performance evaluation for direct reports and assist with the quarterly evaluations of all other accounting supervisors.
  • Participate in a coaching and mentoring scheme to develop and grow talent.
  • Ensure effective use of human resources.
  • Provide guidance to Financial Accountants when needed.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
  • Support the Financial Controller in his / her dealings with auditors (both internal and external) as well as other stakeholders.
  • Deputize for the Financial Controller during his / her absence.
  • Reviews and signs Salary Deduction and NHT Confirmation requests.
  • Produce, as required, any ad hoc reports required by the Financial Controller.
  • Reviews and authorizes financial transactions.
  • Engage successfully with all stakeholders.
  • Report on changes/challenges that impact on the work of the team.
