Reports to:                     Operations Manager                                     

Position Description:

As a Chemist, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality and compliance of our products throughout the production lifecycle. This role includes the establishment and maintenance of quality control systems, research and development, as well as providing essential technical support to internal and external stakeholders. This position offers a dynamic environment where you will play a crucial role in maintaining product quality, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and processes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Quality Control and Testing:

   - Implement and maintain robust quality control systems.

   - Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

2. Product Development and Improvement:

   - Collaborate in the development, improvement, and customization of products, formulas, and processes.

   - Engage in research and development activities to enhance product efficiency and competitiveness.

3. Documentation and Compliance:

   - Conduct process audits to validate compliance with standard operating procedures.

   - Prepare audit reports and issue corrective action requests as needed.

   - Maintain comprehensive databases for incoming raw materials, Certificates of Analysis, and Safety Data Sheets.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

   - Serve as the Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements 

   - Stay updated on industry regulations and standards. 

5. Customer Satisfaction and Complaint Handling:

   - Adhere to protocols for handling customer complaints.

   - Conduct thorough investigations, prepare investigative reports, and communicate findings to senior management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline).

- Proven experience in quality assurance, technical services, or a related role within the manufacturing industry.

- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and quality management systems.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Ability to stand for extended periods.

- Regular exposure to chemical raw materials and organic fumes.

- Willingness to work in warehouse conditions, including high temperatures and some dust.

- Use of safety shoes and other personal protective equipment as required.

- Occasional lifting of products with weights up to 50 lbs.
