• Frame strategic issues and provide guidance internally for the development of anticrime responses; this includes the processes, templates and standard operating procedures for all tasking/work of the department.

Candidates would be required to:

  • Keep the HOD up to date on all matters/issues that affects current operations; 
  • ensure the efficient operation of the department;
  • Anticipate and keep the Executive apprised of high priority issues, requirements and development of anticrime initiatives/operations;
  • Receive, research and prioritise work assignments for the department;
  • Frame strategic issues and provide guidance internally for the development of anticrime responses; this includes the processes, templates and standard operating procedures for all tasking/work of the department.

Candidates would be required to have:

  • Knowledge of the particular laws related to the various types of criminal offences that anticrime initiatives will reveal;
  • A clear understanding of operational procedures so as to guide operational orders, which includes the Military Decision Making process and tactics that can be employed in various anticrime initiatives/measures;
  • Sound knowledge of Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Trinidad and Tobago including the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force;
  • The knowledge and capability to train staff in operational planning and management;
  • The ability to work effectively with and lead in a highly dynamic, fast-paced and demanding environment;
  • The ability to coordinate / plan anticrime initiatives and counter terrorism operations using land, sea and air assets within national security;
  • The ability to use and apply a wide range of methodological tools and approaches to research, analyze and present scientific, and technical related data;
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, and an ability to think strategically.

Successful candidates should possess:

  • Post graduate degree in Criminology, Security, Business Administration or related field;
  • At least fifteen (15) years’ experience in an operational environment in national security;
  • At least five (5) years demonstrated experience in senior Management.
