About the role:
Warehouse Team Leader is an Operational role that focuses on two distinct elements:
- As the warehouse team leader, working as part of a team in the warehouse in order to ensure we deliver against targets
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager be part of the planning, organising and reporting structure that is critical in meeting and delivering against business demands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage the Warehouse staff in the various operations while actively operating as part of the stores floor team.
- Training staff and monitoring their performance and progress;
- Communicating with other departments, staff groups;
- Overseeing stock control and processing orders;
- Ensuring quality, delivery and budget objectives are met;
- Delivering and fulfilling objectives and directions from the Warehouse Manager;
- Managing daily inventory and throughput targets, always ensuring that the business is meeting or exceeding the requirements
- Be available as required for cross functional team initiatives and play an active role in the Warehouse team meetings;
- Carrying out responsibilities for the use of automated and computerized systems;
- As part of the management team, be available to the team to support new business initiatives.
- In line with the Warehouse Manager's training plans for his team, help to ensure skills matrix and individual training records are kept up to date and training gaps are managed in line with business requirements
- Responding to internal and external stakeholder queries, in a professional manner always ensuring issues are dealt with efficiently
- Adhering to all Health and Safety processes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 6 months previous experience working in a busy Warehouse and processing environment.
- Clear systematic approach to business with good problem solving ability
- Exceptional communication focus with a positive can-do attitude
- Courteous and friendly professional telephone manner essential
- Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including some proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to work on own initiative and act independently whilst being able to work successfully as part of a team
- Flexibility in line with business requirements
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner at all times
