WAREHOUSE/ DESPATCHING SUPERVISOR

Warehouse Supervisor

S.M. JALEEL & COMPANY LIMITED one of the leaders in the manufacturing and distribution of non-alcoholic beverages in the Caribbean region, with subsidiaries in the international market, is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and assist in daily receiving, processing, storing and dispatching/shipping of finished product including:
1. Assigning staff, picking, inspecting, certifying and loading customer orders,
2. Receive all incoming material and ensure that documentation are completed on the AX system
3. Assign incoming product to appropriate area or personnel,
4. Ensure that finished goods packing assemblies are arranged according to prescribed heights and layers for both receiving and dispatching
5. Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged, with reconciliation activities being verified against product and AX system.
2. Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily activities, stock takes (when necessary) and audit of product if discrepancies arise. Take inventory if necessary.
3. Supervise the picking of finished goods, by instructing staff to pick from certain pallets according to the expiration dates of the products, so as to ensure that FIFO is maintained.
4. Oversee product handling, placement and retrieval practices with the aim of reducing damages on a daily basis.
5. Record damages from forklift, staff handling, trade and QA, and submit to the Warehouse Manager daily / weekly.
6. Ensure the accuracy of the tallying of the built loads against the consolidated picking lists and truck loading to prevent product damages and poor handling practices.
7. Ensuring the coaching, training, and leading of subordinate staff by approved/assigned personnel.
8. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by production schedules, work flow and Warehouse Manager.
9. Interpreting company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations, ensuring that all PPEs are worn at all times.
10. Ensure the proper usage of equipment (forklift, trolleys, pallet jacks), and report any misuse to the Warehouse Manager, indicating the nature of the abuse, personnel responsible and recommended preventative action or discipline.
11. Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
12. Supervise and monitor housekeeping to ensure that the warehouse is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
13. Continuously improve warehouse operations through the use of cost effective practices.
14. Conferring with other supervisors/checkers to coordinate activities of individual departments (repairs, inventory and BOs) while serving internal customers (CSRs, Drivers, Salesmen).
15. Stand in for the Manager in times of vacation / illness/ absence.
16. Assist the Warehouse Manager in completing staff appraisals on a quarterly basis.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2-3years hands on experience in a Warehousing environment.
• Certification in Inventory Controls and Supervisory Training from recognized institute.
• Experience with AX Dynamics will be an asset.
• Communication and Time Management Skills.
