The Salesman will have the responsibility of achieving maximum sales growth and account penetration within the entire Island of Trinidad by effectively selling all the company’s products and following daily route plans.

Job Title: Salesman

Job Summary: The Salesman will have the responsibility of achieving maximum sales growth and account penetration within the entire Island of Trinidad by effectively selling all the company’s products and following daily route plans with a view to calling upon no less than twenty customers daily.

CORE RESPONSIBILTIES:

1. Promotes/sells/samples/secures orders from existing and potential customers through a relationship-based approach.
2. Sample products to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.

DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

1. Follow route plans on a daily basis.
   
2. Leave office compound with well packed van by 8.am latest to commence sales as per route plans.
3. Visit outlets as per route plans and ensure key customers who do not carry back room stocks are visited frequently to avoid stock out.
4. Check customers’ stocks (exchange damaged items) and arrange products in eye catching position on gondolas/racks/shelves and /or hooks.
5. Prepare sales invoices accurately and ensure cash/cheques reflects invoice totals
6. Collect outstanding amounts owing to company on a weekly basis.
7. Be on lookout for new outlets in route and visit and introduce company’s products.
8. Call in, stock requirements for stock replenishment for next day sales by 3 pm latest.
9. Upon return to office, ensure van stocks, cash and credit sales are checked off and Balanced.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. At least 3 CXC O'Level Passes
2. Certificate in Sales
3. 3-5years experience in a similar position.

• Sales and communication skills
• Knowledge of Trinidad market and proven track record of selling fast moving consumer goods
  
• Ability to prioritize and work independently
• Honesty and integrity
• Must be a holder of a valid driver’s license (Manual)
