The Value Optical Story
Value Optical Ltd was founded in 1994, opening its first store in downtown Port of Spain. Currently, we operate eleven branches throughout Trinidad and are considered one of the leading eye care providers on the twin island republic of Trinidad & Tobago.
Value Optical Ltd was founded on the principles of ‘care by professionals’ and ‘care by true service’ and this remains our core belief as incorporated in our mission statement. Having started with just opticianry and optometric services, Value Optical now also provides ophthalmologic services by recognized independent Ophthalmologists.
The company founded Optex Laboratories in 1996 to support the branches and this wholesale optical laboratory now services fifteen other optical companies in Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean region.
Convenience
Value Optical branches may be found in urban areas throughout Trinidad. Many of the branches are situated in major shopping veins to provide convenient access for our patients. As operations expand Value Optical may also be found at shopping malls, our first mall location being Mid Centre Mall. The company continues to branch out on the island in an effort to reach an ever-increasing patient base that demands great care at convenient locations. Value Optical offers patients a selection of first quality spectacle frames from a number of leading brands and manufacturers. Our frame buyers personally travel to the showrooms of major designers and select the highest-quality styles and designs. Similarly, we are meticulous in lens purchases and process only first quality lenses to meet the ANSI standards. Each Value Optical location has an experienced and fully qualified and registered optometrist, American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certified Opticians and service oriented optical assistants. Our company provides technical and customer service training as ongoing developmental programs for all of our employees. The care of our patients’ eyes is paramount to us and Value Optical prides itself in presenting the most knowledgeable staff in the field to our patients who deserve nothing less than first class care.
Eyeglasses & MoreIn addition to quality frames and lenses, Value Optical offers a full range of contact lens services including examinations, fittings and follow up care. All of the first quality brands that patients have come to know are available at each of our branches. Value Optical also features a variety of accessories for spectacles and contact lenses together with performance sunwear and Rx-able sunglasses. That is why we have set up the Saving Sight Foundation, a non profit organization run by members of Value Optical which seeks to provide to the less fortunate of our society the precious gift of sight. Through partnership with other corporate entities, Value Optical provides spectacles at no charge to financially challenged individuals. Our company also provides free vision screening to various community organizations and corporate bodies in an effort to sensitize the population on the importance of primary vision care and healthy sight.
