The VANS Engineer will be responsible for the accurate charging and reporting for all products, services and upgrades of charging, messaging and mediation systems as well as to ensure that daily operations and maintenance on all those related systems are efficient. The Engineer will also be responsible for all activities relating to voucher generations and activations ensuring the defined operational level agreements are met As well as supporting external departments and markets to resolve faults and customer care issues within acceptable timeframes.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the VANS platforms are always available with negligible downtime.
- Ensure that all vendor-related issues are resolved in the shortest possible time.
- Implement upgrades on the VANS nodes.
- Perform daily routines and preventative maintenance on nodes and providing proper reports.
- Co-ordinate effectively with external markets and offer assistance when the need arises.
- Accept testing for upgrades and roll-out of new products.
- Ensure the generation and activation of vouchers are done within defined OLAs, result files of generations are encrypted and sent within defined OLAs and voucher receipt files are sent to related departments are per voucher process.
- Ensure that all notes are documented in all tracking sheets as defined in the voucher process within the OLA
- Provides support for all voucher generations and activations and to operations team and for scratched vouchers, and queries when necessary and all other voucher related tasks.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS
- First Degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering or Telecoms.
- At least two (2) years experience in a similar role.
- Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset.
- An acceptable combination of experience and academic qualifications would be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
