BMR Position: Turbine Engineer
BMR Jamaica Wind Limited (“BMR”) is currently constructing a 36 MW wind powered electrical generation facility near Malvern in the Parish of St Elizabeth. The facility will consist of 11 3.3. MW wind turbines. The construction is underway and the plant is scheduled to be operational in Q1 2016. BMR is an independent power provider (IPP) and will sell its output to Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (“JPS”). BMR will provide world-class training and local relocation to successful candidates (who are authorized to work in Jamaica) to manage their installation that utilizes the most modern turbine technology in the island. This is an exciting time to join this new company and the exciting energy sector, paving the way for energy diversification in Jamaica.
The Turbine Engineer will be responsible for oversight and monitoring of wind turbine equipment performance. Responsibilities also include oversight and monitoring of the long term Turbine Service contractor. The role will report to the Regional Director – Jamaica of BMR Jamaica Wind. Required Experience:
The Turbine Engineer should have an Engineering degree and at least 5 years of experience in utility power systems. Wind turbine experience is a plus. Experience with commercial matters and contract management is also required.
