TRAINING & COMPETENCY OFFICER
The parent company of J&K Signature Styles, a woman’s clothing retail chain, is seeking a Training and Competency Officer.
JOB FUNCTION
The Training and Competency Officer is responsible for building, implementing and managing successful training and certification programmes for incoming and existing employees at all levels with a focus on fostering a training culture centered on the delivery of a world class level of customer service
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify “core competencies” of the workforce and identify training and development needs within the company.
- Design and develop training and development programmes or source external programmes.
- Responsible for the development of a comprehensive on-boarding programme for new employees in collaboration with the Human Resource Manager.
- Develop and utilize the feedback loop to ensure that all training and development programmes are satisfactory to all relevant parties in the organisation.
- Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
- Supervise the work of trainers and assist trainers to solve specific training problems.
- Develop testing and evaluation procedures and conduct competency appraisal for all employees periodically.
- Create annual, quarterly and monthly training plan in collaboration with the Human Resource Manager and presents plans to management.
- Work with Human Resource Manager and Finance Department to determine annual training budget and ensure that budget goals are met.
- Provide justifications for all training and development programmes.
- Implement approved training plan including all training programmes and ensure programmes are amended and updated as necessary.
- Ensure ongoing evaluation of training and development programmes.
- Design, develop and communicate career development plans for all positions and works with all employees to identify competencies and to develop career development plans.
- 14. Take responsibility for all training materials and keeps training materials up-to-date.
- Use information technology to produce training materials and manuals as well as to administer training where practical.
- Execute any other related duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
- A. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
- Completed the “Train the Trainer” or similar programme
- Retail industry experience preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven ability to teach and facilitate learning;
- Ability to influence others (negotiating skills, persuasiveness & tenacity to follow through);
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and coaching skills
- Ability to promote, coordinate, and drive change;
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong reporting skills;
- Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
Salary: $8,500.00 to $10,000.00 per month (depending on experience)
