About West Indian Tobacco
West Indian Tobacco is a member of the British American Tobacco Group operating within the Caribbean. Our business is the marketing and production of Tobacco products in Trinidad and Tobago and manufacturing for our business partners in the Caribbean.

West Indian Tobacco was established on September 23, 1904 by Mr John Phillips, entrepreneur and founder of the tobacco business in Trinidad and Tobago. In 1920, British American Tobacco acquired the majority shareholding in West Indian Tobacco. In 1970, West Indian Tobacco became a Public Company with the sale of 20% of its shares to local investors. Today, West Indian Tobacco has over 3,000 institutional and individual shareholders of which British American Tobacco is the single largest, with a total shareholding of 50.1%.

Celebrating 100 years of operations in 2004, West Indian Tobacco has built a reputation for producing high quality products to meet the diverse tastes of its consumers. West Indian Tobacco employs over 200 persons and operates from a single location at the corner of Eastern Main Road and Mt D’or Road, Champs Fleurs, Trinidad.
