Presently, we are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our Programming Team.

Temporary Technical Operator – CCN Television Ltd

To effect smooth and continuous broadcast consistent with transmission schedules and material.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Edits and prepares programmes, commercials and emergency broadcast material as required for transmission
• Converts commercials and promotional video from tape to digital format, appropriately tagging and labeling all material
• Compiles daily commercial playlist on the server and effects back-up recording on tape
• Records satellite transmission ensuring optimal audio and video quality
• Transfers advertisements, commercials and promos as requested
• Adjusts programme logs to reflect changes and continuity
• Monitors and records (where necessary) all local television feeds
• Monitors the audio and video levels ON AIR from all sources and corrects where necessary
• Prepares a daily report of problems, needs, irregularities of any transmission matters

Qualifications:

• 5 CXC O’Level Subjects, two (2) of which must be English Language and Mathematics
• Diploma in Audio/Video Transmission or related discipline
• At least three (3) years' relevant experience
• Computer literacy
• Skills in operation and control of broadcast and transmission equipment requiring visual concentration for extended periods
• Conversant with time calculations-hours, minutes, seconds and frames
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work successfully in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
