Position Description:

The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) is assigned to the Technical Sales Unit / Engineering Department. The TSR has a primary role in the sale of energy efficiency solutions to potential and current clients. S/he builds relationships with key stakeholders, who are responsible for the timely, quality assured execution of external client’s programmes/projects.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will have day-to-day responsibilities derived from the key Engineering Department responsibilities:

Sales Engineering

  • Utilises Online and Offline sources to cultivate new leads and develop/maintain the sales pipeline
  • Makes daily outbound sales calls to business owners across all verticals
  • Drives the full sales cycle to attain new business: make introductory calls, assess the building, develop the solution, present it and close the deal.
  • Updates reporting dashboards that aggregates and updates key business metrics.
  • Manages the assimilation of new product features and the dissemination of information about product updates to clients.
  • Pursues up-sell opportunities

Client Account Management 

  • Manages clients list with revenue retention and growth in mind while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Constructively deals with complaints from clients.

Role Requirements:

The Technical Sales Representative should:

  • Demonstrate experience and a professional track record of exceptional performance in the key sales functions.
  • Be willing to work in a growing organisation and must own a vehicle.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Mathematics from an accredited degree-granting tertiary institution.
  • Relevant experience in Sales is considered an asset and would be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.

 

Role Advancement:

 

It is expected as the organisation grows, the department will mature. This role will evolve through the addition of new assignments, and the expansion or removal of current assignments. Promotions can be either line or re-assignments promotions.
