Job Description

The Finance Team Leader’s primary responsibility is to be an active member on the leadership team, providing financial reporting, analysis and strategic direction for the business as well as being responsible for insuring the financial integrity and governance of all operations.  Development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting and payroll is necessary and includes the preparation of timely management accounts. The position will oversee a staff of different administrative assistants and clerks. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve shareholder return on investment.
  • Create business plan with the Team Leaders, covering manpower, revenue and expenses.
  • Develop, implement and review accounting rules and processes, as needed.
  • Manage creditors.
  • Create budget with Team Leaders.
  • Analyze statistics, seeking a continuous opportunity to maximize company value through improved cash flow and
    proper asset investment.
  • Make financial recommendations to the Executive Director.
  • Report standard balance sheet, income statements, and cash flow statement.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare for Audit
  • Complete tax returns with Accounting Firm.
  • Manage Administrative Staff and complete performance evaluations.
  • Perform due diligence.
  • Oversee general computer networking and programs and act as an administrator for the network.
  • Oversee general office expenses.
  • Secure building leases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

-  BSc. Accounting; ACCA or any equivalent, combination of training and experience

-  At least five (5) years experience in a Supervisory capacity

-  Knowledge in the use of Peachtree Accounting Software will be an asset

-  Well developed verbal communication and analytical skills

Reporting

- Reports to the Executive Director

- Supervises Accounting and other related staff
