The Trinidad practice currently has a career opportunity for a Tax Manager in our Human Capital- Mobility (Expatriate) tax practice.
Within Human Capital, professionals work with our clients by delivering expatriate tax filing and assignment-related calculations; assisting with strategic tax planning solutions; and providing other international assignment-related projects/services. Responsibilities
Establish/maintain long-term collaborative relationships with our clients and internal colleagues; Serve as single point of contact for engagements
Possess and continually increase understanding of complex expatriate tax issues
Coordinate and deliver accurate, quality tax returns for assignees
Coordinate the delivery of various Mobility and other Tax services offered by the firm in a proactive manner that exceeds client expectations
Review international assignment-related calculations such as tax cost projections, tax equalization calculations, hypothetical tax calculations, etc.
Conduct/review research on various topics such as technical or treaty interpretation/application, regulatory issues, and payroll matters; prepare/review the related communications for the client
Develop the client’s understanding of local tax issues and proactively explain implications of recent law changes
Develop, supervise and manage the team’s technical skills, client service skills, and engagement management skills
Perform engagement management activities including billing, scheduling, performance evaluations, mentoring, managing client expectations, and identifying additional client needs/EY opportunities
To qualify, candidates must have:
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or a related field (an advanced degree in tax or law is highly desirable)
A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
Professional certifications e.g. CPA, CA, ACCA, LEC
Broad exposure to tax advisory and tax compliance
Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
