JOB TITLE: TX/IP Manager
Primary objective of the job:
Support Head of Transport in Design, Engineering, and Support related activities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Duties:
1. Capacity planning and monitoring to ensure transport infrastructure supports network growth and provisioning of all services.
2. Dimensioning and monitoring of all transport networks(L1, L2, L3), inclusive of Microwave transmission.
3. Audit and optimize existing network infrastructure and routing strategy
4. Engineering of networks according to strategy communicated by Head of Transport Engineering.

6. Contribute to overall technical reviews and design
7. Provide engineering support to other teams namely maintenance, customer care, Finance, Carrier Services and IT both at group and Market Level
8. Actively participate in troubleshooting investigations related to faults within the network
9. Assist in analysis of traffic changes and revenue streams. Produce accurate capacity forecasts.
10. Maintain long-term trend analysis of traffic, network performance etc.
11. Design and implement a comprehensive Change management policy.
12. Document and issue clear engineering and design rules to all Digicel Properties.
13. Ensure that standards are developed, circulated and adhered to by all properties.
Administrative Duties:
1. Supervise Network Planning Engineers and ensure integrity of their deliverables.
2. Prepare Management Reports (Weekly, Monthly) to be sent to directors relating to Network Performance and highlighting Network Incidents, their reasons, and plans to prevent recurrence. Make note in those reports of potential risks identified with current Infrastructure.
3. Manage Network expansion requests, assess their validity and ensure that they are completed timely when applicable.
4. Support the members of the Planning team with technical queries and advise on best practice to ensure network quality.
5. Support members from other sections in the Technical Department
6. Set objectives and conduct performance reviews of supervisees biannually.
7. Coordinate the activities of Network Planning Engineers.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
o Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science
o Four (4) yrs Experience in the Telecommunication Industry of which at least 2 in a Network Planning environment
o CCNP/CCIE level expected
o Experience in designing, maintaining transport networks in large multiservice telecom providers (IP Native)
o Experience with multi-vendor environments.
