SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Position Summary:
The System Administrator is responsible for supporting and developing the organization through prompt and reliable technical support, high quality service, achieving end user satisfaction and continuing education of staff and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Troubleshoot hardware/ software problems and system failures
Identify trends and source problems and recommend/initiate corrective action
Provide client support and technical issue resolution via email, phone and other electronic media or face to face
Provide training to clients in use of systems and applications
Test and evaluate new technology and provide recommendations
Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
Perform backup of all company data in accordance with company data management policy
Ensure antivirus protection definitions are up to date and in line with company policy
Train personnel in the use of hardware and software
Maintain confidentiality of company information
Observe all company policies and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned and directed
Qualifications& Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent study and experience.
Certifications and/ or training in the following products or technologies preferred: Microsoft Server 2003/2008 administration (MCSA, MCITP); database administration; network administration (Network+, CCNA), data storage and tools, Microsoft Office products (MOS).
Two (2) years System Administration experience.
Experience within retail setting preferred, including knowledge of POS systems, data polling and inventory management.
Good knowledge of computer hardware.
Demonstrated ability to convey technical information in a manner that enables a non-technical audience to easily understand and apply it.
Other Requirements:
Shift work may be required.
Working on weekends may be required.
Ability to work unsupervised on occasions while achieving results.
Ability to interact with staff members from all levels and work within a team to achieve company goals and targets.
Ability to travel to external locations.
Occasional overtime with little notice.
