All applicants must have either a subject degree or a B.Ed. and PGCE, with recent, relevant experience of at least 3 to 5 years in the English National Curriculum at the various Key Stages. Successful applicants will be excellent classroom practitioners, passionate about students’ learning, computer literate and experienced in using assessment for learning, differentiation, and technology to support learning. He/she will be a good team player and will contribute positively to the overall life of the school. As a Catholic school, we strongly encourage committed Catholics to apply; however, we also welcome applications from non-Catholics. St Ignatius Catholic School deploys one-to-one devices across the Secondary School campus and laptop carts in the Primary School. We are seeking a candidate with the vision and enthusiasm to develop Computing from KS1 up to KS5 to ensure high academic standards of achievement across the Primary and Secondary phases, and especially in external examinations. The school will be introducing IGCSE and AS Level Computing from September 2017 to build upon the development of Computing in KS2 and 3 and to replace GCSE and A-Level ICT. Successful applicants are expected to have experience of teaching Computing/Computer Science to I/GCSE and A-Level, as well as experience or demonstrable potential in leading an ICT/Computing department. As such, the successful applicant will be able to show a track record of innovation in the classroom and in wider use of technology, as well as evidence of previous examination success for I/GCSE and A-Level Computing/Computer Science.
Salary range CI$41,714 - CI$54,866 per annum. Benefits include medical insurance, contribution to a pension plan, relocation allowance and end of final contract repatriation allowance. The school also offers one free school place for the child of an employee. Contracts are for two years initially and may be extended annually by mutual agreement.
